STUDIO PICTURES

Overlorde entered the recording studio on July 25th to begin recording its debut CD titled "Return of the Snow Giant" for Cult Metal Classics (soon to become Sonic Age) Records.

The recording sessions, done at Trax East in South River NJ, are being  photo and video-documented by Overlorde Force Recon Pathfinder Greg Smith (OFR# 96-P). The photos are below.

Weekend of July 24th, 25th 2004:

First Recording Session (July 25th):  The focus of the first session was to record all the drum tracks and as much of the bass as possible. Mission accomplished!

Sunday, August 8th, 2004:

Second Recording Session:  The focus of the second session was to finish the bass tracks, and record rhythm guitars and lead vocals. Didn't quite get as much done as hoped, forcing an extra studio session to be booked for Saturday, August 14th (the day before the final recording session on Sunday the 15th). Everything continues to sound great! Check out the ezboard forum for updated report from Pathfinder Greg.

Saturday, August 14th, 2004:

Third Recording Session:  The focus of the third session was rhythm guitars and   lead vocals. Got most of the rhythm guitar and some of the lead vocals done, and completed both the next day. Ranger Karl Hiller (whose many photos grace this site) filled in for Greg Smith on the 14th and the below photos are his except where noted.

Sunday, August 15 and Monday, August 23rd, 2004:

Fourth Recording Session: Completed rhythm guitars and lead vocals, which meant changing August 23rd from a mixdown day to a tracking day to finish recording.

Snakenet member MAC attended and posed with Bobby and M.E.M.E. and Kong, dueling Flying V's while going over the intro to Colossus

 

Fifth Recording Session: Completed miscellaneous guitars, lead guitar and background vocals. The next day mixdown begins!
