Today is the
64th anniversary of D-DAY, also known as OPERATION OVERLORD. One of the defining
events in American and World history, it is also, in part, the reason for
Overlorde's naming.
In fact, it was this day in 1985, 23 years ago, that Overlorde was named.
To honor these events, and the men that fought in D-Day, Overlorde has added a
song to its music player from their debut
1987 EP. The song is titled THE LONGEST DAY, and is about D-Day. The song was
titled after the Cornelius Ryan book and movie of the same name.
The song features vocalist
Pat O'Donnell, and will be available all weekend. You can read more about

Overlorde's John "Kong" Bunucci will be appearing at a "Meet and Greet" at DRAGON CON in Atlanta, Georgia as a guest of HEAVEN AND HELL RECORDS. The convention runs from Aug 31st to September 3rd, 2007.
Kong will appear on Saturday, Sept 1st at 2:00PM. He will have a limited number of posters and 8 x 10's to give away. CDs will also be available for sale at the Heaven & Hell Records Booth.
Overlorde announces that Chris Colfax has permanently joined as the band's vocalist! The band looks forward to working with Chris as they write and prepare for the release of their second CD on Sonic Age Records.
A live MP3 of SNOW GIANT, taken from the band's set at BROOKLYN METALFEST II, is now available for download at the band's MySpace Page. This is the first publicly available Overlorde recording with Chris on vocals. Check out pictures of the show both at Myspace and in the photo section.

Overlorde announces that it has parted ways with vocalist Bobby Lucas. The band wishes Bobby the best of luck in his future endeavors.
Appearing onstage with the band during its upcoming set at BROOKLYN METAL FEST II will be vocalist Chris Colfax. The band will be performing on Saturday, June 23rd, at approximately 7:00pm (see UPCOMING EVENTS for more details).

DVD Released, Video posted
The official DVD of KEEP IT TRUE IV has been released. This features four of Overlorde’s songs (20 minutes) from our debut European gig in April 2005. This is the first EVER DVD release featuring Overlorde footage. We are glad to report that the DVD came out excellent. Great audio and video.
Since the DVD will be difficult to get in the USA, we may be offering it via mailorder to all our fans. The DVD would come with a free full size promotional poster. Kong Recovering from Knee Replacement Surgery
Overlorde bassist John "Kong" Bunucci had knee replacement surgery on Monday, November 28th. This the indirect result of a forklift that fell off a loading dock and pinned him against his van almost 20 years ago.
We are glad to report that everything went fine and he is recovering nicely. He expects to be able to sit at his PC and be back online soon.

HELL HATH NO FURY, as chosen by Overlorde's fans, is the second single/MP3 from RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT. It is available for streaming and download from www.myspace.com/overlorde. The downloadable file is a high quality 192k bit-rate, so anyone wishing to use it for radio airplay (either broadcast or streaming) should find it to be exceptional quality.

Keep It True IV DVD:
The compilation DVD featuring four songs from Overlorde's debut European performance in April 2005 will be released in early November 2005 (during KIT V). The video is from a seven-camera shoot and the audio was recorded off the sound board to a 24-track digital recorder, so expect it to be great!

I absolutely hear Maiden influences. Its a very powerful song. The changes in the song are very refreshing, keep your attention. Normally if a song is about 6 minutes long it gets boring after bout 4 minutes. but thats not the case here. I like it!

Overlorde announces the launch of its MySpace Music page at MySpace.com! Guitarist Mark "M.E." Edwards explained the importance of this:
"The metal community has really flourished at MySpace. Especially the American fans. We just recently became aware of MySpace Music, which allows bands to post songs and interact in a positive way with fans. It really is a great place to bring the bands and fans together, and I think its going to go a long way in rejuvenating the classic/heavy/power metal scene here in the states. The response has already been great. The page has only been up for about 10 days and we have already hooked up with over 500 new fans!"
The site is found at www.myspace.com/overlorde. Anyone who already has a MySpace profile is invited to send an ADD FRIEND REQUEST to the band. For everyone else, you don't need to be registered to check it out but it is required to access all sections of the Overlorde page. Registration is free.

The band was named June 6, 1985 and played its first show in November 1985. The
first event to mark the anniversary is this Friday, June 24th.
OVERLORDE
will be live in-studio at WDHA-FM in New Jersey this Friday, June 24th. The band
will be talking about RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT and celebrating its 20th
anniversary with some give-aways.The show airs on 105.5 FM in Northern New
Jersey and can also be streamed live at

The show is METAL MANIA, hosted by Matt Murray. It airs from 11:00 pm Eastern US

KEEP IT TRUE IV: The band is back from its debut European show in Germany at KEEP IT TRUE IV metalfest. And we are glad to report it went GREAT! 1,200 fist pumping metalheads dressed in denim, leather, spandex and studs. It felt like the 80's in New Jersey all over again!
We met people from Germany, Poland, Sweden, Greece, Portugal, France, Belgium, Holland, Canada, the UK and the USA.
What made it more special was seeing so many fans singing along with the songs. Not just the choruses, but all the words! And the reactions...suffice it to say the fans were very moved to see and meet us. The band were honored and very much appreciated the response, and it was great meeting so many of the fans for the first time. Thanks to all who attended from Dave, Kong, Bobby and M.E. Thanks also to Pathfinder Oli, Tarek, and the rest of the KIT staff for making the experience so special and running such a professional event.
Overlorde also thanks its label, Sonic Age Records, for helping to make the performance happen.

HEAVY, ODER WAS!? issue # 80, March/April 2005 included a GREAT surprise! Not only did they include their 1/2 page interview with Overlorde's M.E., but they included RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT in its SOUNDCHECK feature. Twelve (12) reviewers rated seventy three (73) CDs and they were ranked by the average rating. Overlorde came in an astonishing NUMBER TWO!!!!

THE END USA sold out of their first shipment of Overlorde CDs in just three days last month, and U.S. fans were unable to order it while. The End waited for a restock shipment. That shipment arrived recently and the CD can now be ordered either through THE OMEGA (The End's Online mailorder) or by asking your local record store to get it from THE END. Other U.S. Mailorders like METALDISC also carry it.
Two new features (The CD was named "Best of 2004 by two separate websites!), and four new reviews!

Today, January 10th, is the German release date! The CD is being distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland by Twilight Distribution.

As 2004 ends, Overlorde has seen the culmination of a long time goal and dream. The one thing the band has been intensely focusing its efforts on since reuniting in 2000. The release of RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT, the band's first full length CD. And the reviews have be phenomenal. Our thanks to everyone that has supported us in this endeavor. But as the year ends so begins another busy year, as we work to spread the word of Overlorde to all corners of the metal kingdom! We look forward to seeing and hearing from you all in 2005! CULT METAL CLASSICS records joins with SONIC AGE RECORDS, and Overlorde's debut RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT will now be released under the Sonic Age label. More news to follow when the Sonic Age website is launched.

News from the front! Recording studio update!
Recording for RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT began July 25th. Overlorde Force Recon Pathfinder Greg Smith (OFR# 96-P) was on-hand to video document it. Still photos are here.

PRESS RELEASE: Recording Update For immediate distribution 7/13/2004
Overlorde enters the recording studio on July 25th to begin recording its debut CD for Cult Metal Classics Records, titled "Return of the Snow Giant".
The recording is being done at Trax East, located in South River NJ. The recording sessions will be engineered by Eric Kvortek, and the mixing sessions will be engineered by Eric Rachel.
The sessions are also being video-documented by Overlorde Force Recon Pathfinder Greg Smith (OFR# 96-P).

The U.S. Power metal band OVERLORDE announces that it has signed a record deal with Greece's premier heavy metal record label, CULT METAL CLASSICS!
OVERLORDE reunited in 2000 due in great part to the efforts of label founder and co-owner Manos Koufakis. Original members John "Kong" Bunucci ( Bass), Dave Wrenn ( Drums) and Mark "M.E." Edwards (Flying V) recruited former SEVEN WITCHES (Massacre Records) vocalist Bobby "Leather Lungs" Lucas to round out the lineup. Together they recorded the OVERLORDE 2000 demo and started their search for a record label.
During this search, FORCE RECON, the fan club/cyber street team created when the band reunited, enlisted 300 members and the official website, www.overlorde.com, received over 17,500 hits.
The demo OVERLORDE 2000, along with shows at POWERMAD 2001 and CLASSIC METAL FEST 2002, caused a great buzz among the Power/True/Classic metal community. Germany's ROCK HARD included the band on its Unerhort! [Die Besten Bands Ohne Deal] #10 compilation CD, which featured the best unsigned metal bands in the world. HEAVY, ODER WAS?! presented the band in three separate issues, and Snakenet Metal Radio listeners (www.snakenet.com) voted the band its "2002 Indie Battle of the Bands" winner. The buzz has now resulted in this record deal.
The band is tentatively set to enter the recording studio in July to record the12-song, 60 minute effort titled RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT. This will be the first ever full length release by the band, whose reputation is based on its 5-song "1987 EP" self-release (Strike Zone Records) in addition to the 4-song OVERLORDE 2000 demo.
"OVERLORDE has been one of my favorite U.S. metal bands ever since I got hold of the classic "Overlorde" EP back in 1996." states Cult Metal Classics founder & co-owner, Manos Koufakis. "17 years after the original release, we take pride in having this band releasing an album for CULT METAL CLASSICS Records, with Bobby Lucas on vocals. Mark Edwards (guitar) and I, have been discussing the terms of a possible recording deal the last couple of months. It's been such a pleasure to deal with these guys, as they're professionals in what they're doing, great musicians and above all great guys. Expect nothing more and nothing less than one of the most powerful comebacks of the last ten years. "Return of the Snow Giant" is going to be an instant favorite. The album is expected to be out sometime in Autumn of 2004. Keep your eyes and ears open, for the Snow Giant is coming BACK!"

4) NJ METALFEST (MARCH METAL MELTDOWN): Overlorde's M.E. attended Friday and Saturday of the three day weekend, this time held for the first time in Irvington NJ. Pathfinder Markus of Germany joined M.E. and hooked up with other Force Recon'ers during the show. These included Pathfinder Greg, Ranger Neal, Ranger Natalie ("Hey, I'm a SUV") and stage manager par excellance, Raider John. There were also a number of Snakenet members that hooked up with M.E. for the first time. Fest highlights included sets by TWILIGHT ODYSSEY, ZANDELLE, TEARABYTE, SINNER and OVERKILL.
