What a hell of an album !!! Every Metalhead into raw, old school Powermetal with clear but powerful vocals should have been obliged to purchase this jewel. It never happened because this EP from 1987 was released only as a US-self financed pressing and thus had poor distribution. Anyway, there are a few maniacs who have searched desperately for this piece of Vinyl, which is as rare as gold dust nowadays, and spread the message. So Overlorde are rocking few living rooms now, which they would never have seen otherwise. It is straight US Metal with very unique melody lines and spine-scrubbing Thunder riffing. Accompanied by driving bass and drums with solid craftsmanship, the solos are real smokers ! Mark Edwards makes the strings of his old White. (He's still playing it) burn. Don't be afraid, no crazed high speed whining a la Malmsteen is waiting for you, but well worked out leads -small compositions within the composition. This EP is worth drawing my sword and smite those Unbelievers who think Metal is Keyboard poofterism with faggot-like vocals and beeping melodies. Or distorted basslines, psyco-like screams, minimalistic Alibi-melodies, meaningless bopping beats and totally boring rhythm guitars. No fuckin way. I wish I had a time machine, so that I could travel back in time to kick the trendy glam-kids, and take their poser scalps and attach them at my bullet belt (with skull belt buckle). Yes, what Overlorde unleashes within those few songs is almost to be equaled by an emotional world-storm So moving, that I put aside all the modern Metalstuff, and let it rot in the stores, without the feeling of having missed something. This EP needs a Re-release."
- 9,5 out of 10 (9.5 out of 10 Points)
